The design awards of 2026: standout winners from Turkey and the world

Design awards are often the clearest compass for where an industry is looking. The first half of 2026 produced notable results both globally and in Turkey.
iF Design Award 2026: the scale of competition grows
One of the world's most established design awards, with over 70 years of history, the iF Design Award announced its 2026 results in February. This year more than 10,000 entries from 68 countries were judged by a jury of 129 international experts. The award rests on a holistic understanding covering not only aesthetics but innovation, functionality and social impact. Projects winning across disciplines from Turkey showed the country competes globally through design-led thinking, not just manufacturing.
Apple Design Awards 2026: experience above all
Apple announced the 2026 winners of its Apple Design Awards, given each year ahead of WWDC, in early June. Twelve apps and games chosen from 36 finalists were judged across six categories on design quality, innovation, technical achievement and user experience. The lesson for anyone building digital products is clear: visual polish alone is not enough; what gets rewarded is the integrated experience.
Global wins for Turkish brands
In recent months brands from Turkey stood out internationally. Ceramic maker Kalebodur won the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards 2025 with its Mayfair series. Creavit's Oniva bathroom furniture was recognised in the 'Green Products' category at the Green GOOD Design Awards 2025. Çanakkale's Seddülbahir Fortress received an award within the Wonder Global Design Awards 2025 for its restoration and contemporary museum work.
The real value of an award in branding
Turkey-focused competitions such as the Brandverse Awards reward the creative components of branding, from experience design to craft. So what is the real return of an award? Not a trophy on its own. An award is independent confirmation, by a jury, of a brand's visual and strategic coherence. It builds trust with clients, visibility in the press and motivation within the team.
But beware: an award is an outcome, not a goal. Work designed only to win awards often becomes contrived. Truly strong work answers a problem with a clear strategy first; recognition comes as a natural extension.
